Tour of the Biblioteca de Catalunya and exhibition Otherly Seers
Oscar Holloway considers four books key to the study of natural history that reveal the perceptual otherness of non-human animals. In this visit to the Biblioteca Nacional de Catalunya, we will be able to see for ourselves one of these documents, Histoire naturelle by the Comte de Buffon, from the eighteenth century, as well as other volumes, titles and watermarks featuring animals selected from the holdings of documentation by the team at the library, who will also be giving us insights into this historic building. Immediately afterwards, we will visit the exhibition in La Capella in the company of the artist, who will lead us on a conceptual and temporal path connecting the two spaces and inviting us to embrace new accounts and points of view.
