Interfícies is a community culture and health platform that promotes collective research in the arts, education and public participation. Coordinated by Transductores since 2017 in neighbourhoods including El Raval, La Marina and Poble Sec, it works with local networks and a range of organisations in community and educational contexts. Interfícies has now been implemented in various community and educational contexts.
This exhibition presents artistic and community initiatives that explore different ways of activating cultural rights to strengthen healthy communities and come up with different ways of imagining the city. It showcases participatory and co-creative cultural projects linked to social rights and care, collective memory, community health, community education and the local area.
The exhibition showcases initiatives that draw on a wide range of artistic practices and interdisciplinary, hybrid formats, including performance art, live arts, participatory photography, non-conforming memory practices and projects centred on public space and education.
It explores a range of issues through the lens of the right to the city: community spaces as places that promote cultural and social rights while fostering healthy and inclusive environments; mutual support among women and migrant memories in relation to urban transformation; intercultural dialogue, collective care and interdependence within neighbourhoods; and young people’s perspectives on neighbourhood life and the right to housing.
Projects Showcased:
Dret a l'habitatge (The right to housing)- Teleduca with the XAIAD (Support Network for Children and Adolescents of Poble-sec facing housing loss
This service-learning (SL) project brought together a group of twelve students in the second year of compulsory secondary education (ESO) from a wide range of backgrounds, using audiovisual storytelling as a research tool. Through a co-creation process, the students explored the right to housing in the context of their neighbourhood, culminating in the production of two films.
Allò que sosté el món té rostre de dona [Women sustain the world together] -Associació Més que Cures and Carla Guerra
This community theatre production by Racó de les Cures grew out of a year-long collective creative process involving seven migrant women working as carers. Situated at the crossroads of art and social action, this project with an intersectional perspective uses theatre as a platform for those whose often invisible and precarious care work sustains life in the neighbourhood.
Força Teatre IV - Forn de Teatre Pa’tothom and Coordinadora d’Entitats pel Teatre Arnau
During the 2025–2026 season, Forn de Teatre Pa’tothom coordinated this creative and educational project with Teatre Arnau for the third time, focusing on the performing arts and strengthening communication skills and the use of Catalan. It was aimed at Year 5 primary school pupils, using theatre to develop core skills. The partnership with the school continued throughout the academic year, fostering learning and creativity in relation to themes such as sustainability and mutual support in times of eco-social crisis. The project was presented at Espai Cooperasec and La Capella.
Transformaciones del paisaje y memorias [Transformations of landscapes and memories] - Veus Augmentades and Teleduca
This project was a collaborative research initiative to build a collective audiovisual record of the La Marina neighbourhood with older residents from diverse migrant backgrounds. Through two community memory workshops involving more than twenty participants, they revisited personal memories, photographs and lived experiences to explore the area’s urban and social transformation. The project resulted in five short films exploring a range of themes, including migration, leisure, local shops, Montjuïc mountain and neighbourhood activism.
