Centre d'Art La Capella is the space that the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona dedicates to emerging creation. In recent years, its activity has focused on the organization of exhibitions to bring the most innovative proposals of the city's artists. Barcelona Producció is now the central programme of La Capella. Its aim is to promote the participation of artists and professionals in the sector, selected by an independent jury based on an open call.
BARCELONA PRODUCCIÓ
Barcelona Producció is a programme that aims to foster production in contemporary art practices. It promotes the participation of artists, curators, critics, researchers and other professionals focused on contemporary art and culture through an open competition and a selection of projects carried out by an independent jury.
Concentric
The Concentric program is based on the movement of projects and artists to promote the exchange of experiences and aims to amplify the radius of action of La Capella's contents in various geographical areas: Raval, the city of Barcelona, the metropolitan area, the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and internationally.
Schools of Context
A study program that fosters providing training resources, lines of research and meeting spaces available to the city's artistic community. Thus, the objective of "creating context" through practice is reformulated as one of the backbones of La Capella, and gives rise to a series of stable subprograms.
Mediation
Our mediation programme has a twofold objective. First, to establish links with the educational community and, second, to foster relations of affinity with our immediate surroundings: the Raval neighbourhood. In terms of the educational community, La Capella is a member of the Apadrina programme, and it is also part of the Espais C municipal project, a coexistence experience that involves placing an artist in a primary school, sharing artistic practice with everyday life at the school and trying out flexible, experimental educational models.
