We inhabit a world where imaginaries about the future find themselves hijacked, reduced to crisis scenarios. We accept collapse as the definite horizon of our imminent future, while at the same time it is slipping through our fingers.
We are orphans of the future.
If nostalgia is a pathology that idealises the past in the face of today’s chaos, the works on display in this exhibition invite us to inhabit nostalgia as a reflective, non-linear temporality from which to yearn for a life and a future in all their multiplicity and differences.
