La Mancha más ciega (The Blindest Stain [i]) begins with a lack of plot and the density of one’s own voice in order to establish connections through trial and error as well as displacement within the illegibility that shapes everyday life.
The project suggests exploring orality as a material through the motions of linguistic forms that find presence by focusing on the ephemeral and the manipulation of language to which we are exposed daily. But it also seeks to reconsider the sensuality of these signs themselves, revealing and stretching a very modest and very intentional gesture when working with a material that it seeks to imitate.
A wood without prestige, an attempt of wanting to be.
[i] The title is a play on words in the Spanish version that is difficult to translate, because the word ‘Mancha’ has a double meaning when written with a capital M.
