‘CONTROL’ emerged from an exploration objects, spaces and structures that organise the way things come together, come apart or remain in limbo. I am interested in seeing what happens when protecting something begins to change the way it is used, when caring for it distances us from it.
The exhibition brings together a series of works that examine these tensions. Rather than suggesting a single interpretation, it presents a series of situations where contact, access, waiting and separation appear as changing conditions that are difficult to pin down and open to multiple interpretations.
Karlos Martínez B., born in Durango in 1982, is a visual artist who mainly works through sculpture and installations. In recent years, he has undertaken exhibitions, residencies and research projects in different settings and contemporary art institutions. His works are found in collections such as those of the Museo Reina Sofía, CA2M and Museo Artium.
