Opening: Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 PM

Salir a la calle: Calàbria 2005 / Hospital 2026 introduces a new exhibition format within La Capella’s Concèntric programme under the theme of La memòria dispersa [Dispersed memory], which offers a contemporary interpretation of selected past projects that were especially significant within Barcelona’s emerging art scene.

La memòria dispersa revisits intense moments in the recent history of local art, with the aim of highlighting the inevitable dispersal that comes with time. In doing so, La Capella seeks to update creations that are key for understanding a particular approach to making art in Barcelona.

Salir a la calle y disparar al azar was a one-day exhibition-event curated by David G. Torres and held on Thursday 22 December 2005 at what was then Antonio Ortega’s studio/workshop on Carrer de Calàbria. The show brought together local artists, leading international figures, musicians and others, united by a shared impulse to express a particular attitude towards art: one that doesn’t seek permission and doesn’t worry too much about where it might lead.
