The What Heritage? What Plunder? What Restitutions? conference days aim, through discussion forums, pedagogical actions and communicative tools, to bring the programme's content, its political consequences and its potential for social transformation to a wide audience, including actions across four locations in Catalonia. At the same time, they propose opening reflections on the role of different agents situated in the metropolis, in the former colonies and in their multiple diasporas, all of whom have been involved in these processes. With this intention, the project also serves as a meeting ground — not free of conflict — between people affected in different places and in different ways by these processes, and as a space for the critical opening up of the programme itself.
Starting from the idea that decolonisation is neither a metaphor nor a one-off action, but the transformation of an entire structure of thought and action, we are interested in questioning the collection and the colony through three intertwined questions: Traceabilities, Heritage and Restitution-Reparation.
