This is a call for the formation of a group process geared towards investigating ways of doing things in the performing arts that problematise and broaden the spectrum of our relationship with images.
As on the stage, bodies and their performativities operate as the preferred medium for inscribing and transferring the scopic regime that currently also dominates other fields. In this context, what tools and strategies can the performing arts bring to the debate on images? What critical visualities and alternative horizons of action are taking place in today’s performance practices? How can we challenge algorithmic flows, trends and temporalities?
As part of All Images Will Disappear, a Barcelona Producció 2026 project by Fernando Gandasegui, The Ultraviolet Scene is an invitation to form a group that is open to continuous or occasional participation. The group will attend various events throughout the year as well as encounters with artists in order to engage in conversations about the visualities mobilised by their practices.
