CLUB9’s SKYDIVING performance artist mobility project has been providing a line of itinerancy to winning performance artists from Barcelona Producció’s live arts calls since 2024.
Based on this collaboration, as a resident platform in the Concentric programme, CLUB9 has suggested a formula of cooperation between a public programme and an independent initiative in order to provide emerging performance artists with a new resource for showcasing their work.
Through this agreement, CLUB9 has toured the following artists through SKYDIVING: Ari Cardozo, Estanis Comella, Guiu Gimeno, Dania Shihab, Júlia Barbany and Alba Rihe, and this year it is preparing to do the same with Marta Crespo, Lautaro Reyes and Kleo La Faraona.
Over the past two years, SKYDIVING’s host network has included the participation of centres and festivals such as the Fundação Serralves (Porto), Centre Párraga (Murcia), La Juan Gallery (Madrid), ACRO (Málaga) and Sporting Club (Valencia).
As part of this rewarding collaboration experience between La Capella and CLUB9, other questions are now emerging about how this resource could be improved and what other mechanisms would exist in the future to extend this support for emerging performance artists.
The presentation of SKYDIVING will address these issues with David Armengol, director of La Capella, and Oscar Abril Ascaso, founder of CLUB9, alongside the participation of both past and present resident artists from Barcelona Producció’s live arts production line.
