To celebrate the end of the exhibition Repeat Bend Coincide, the artist Milena Rossignoli is offering a workshop focusing on Ukemi (the art of falling in martial arts).
Taught by Raúl Martínez, 3rd Dan Fukushidoin (@kokyuu.spanda), the workshop will work on body awareness and the psychological aspect of Ukemi in order to create an active dialogue and symbolic end with the exhibition’s sculptures and installations. This will be done through training and a focus on the falls studied in Aikido, integrating it into the artist’s personal sculptural process.
The workshop is not open to the general public but is instead aimed at individuals with experience in Aikido or similar martial arts.
