On Thursday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m., in the Finestres Space of La Capella, the activation of "The Paint by Number Museum (A Reader)" will be hold by the artist Rafel G. Bianchi.
This “reader” accompanies an installation with the same title that Émilie Ferrat and François Girard-Meunier presented at the Brno Biennale in 2016, and includes texts by Stephen Knott and Michel de Certeau. Both authors display an extensive historical and critical analysis of amateur artistic practice, focusing on the “coloring book” format that emerged in the United States in the 1950s.
For this presentation JA Llibreria has asked the artist Rafel G Bianchi to do a personal reading, constructing a parallel story that will connect contents of the publication with his personal imagination.
