Presentation of CSFCMMCAB Vol. 1: Santoral Interior
On Monday, December 20, 2021, the eve of the winter solstice, the CD Santoral Interior will be presented: the first work derived from the project Symbolic Connections between Catholic Folklore and Mákina Music in the Old Quarter of Barcelona by Marc O'Callaghan, selected in the Barcelona Producció 2019-2020 call in the research category.
The structure of each of the 10 songs on this album is an exact reflection of the structure of each of the 10 churches referred to by their titles, based on a correlation between the devotions contained within, the melodies of the joys traditionally dedicated to each of them; and the base notes of each festival according to a microtonal equivalence between scale and calendar derived from Ptolemy's tonal zodiac.
The presentation will be presented as a listening session of the 10 songs played directly from the sequencer with which they have been produced, accompanied by 10 infographic videos illustrating their structure, and interspersed with comments from the author in relation to the compositional details of each one.
