Shitpodcast: A pirate broadcast on shitposting
The Internet is full of shit, but that’s okay because we already like it.
Amid advertising content, pornographic bots, programmatic advertising and AI-made shrimp Jesuses, we could all agree that we live in a time of enshitification. Everyone seemingly wants to sell us their lifestyle and personal brand, or is trying to get us into the next little digital image scam in the form of bitcoin or NFT. Companies want to be our friends, and villainous community managers pretend to be transgressive. Kim Kardashian recommends that you take twenty to thirty selfies before posting the one you choose, the one that makes you look incredibly gorgeous. We are becoming less human and more contents. What’s more, the billionaires who trade in our data are getting richer and more fascist, while you can’t even afford to pay your rent. Not much bread and a lousy circus. So what can we do?
We suggest you take a tour of the sewers of the Internet. Come and dive into the toilet with us and let us discover together who is more disgusting. Who makes the shit and who consumes it without realising that they are eating it? We want to celebrate the phenomenon of shitposting, one of the most disruptive behaviours and aesthetics in the history of our network of networks. We will do it with a radio show where we will talk about what shitposting is, where it comes from and who (and what) it serves. We invite you to get down in the mud with us and get covered in shit because, as Astrud said: ‘Everything is like shit to us except yours.’
