SCHOOL OF TEXT: Rope, boomerang, link, umbilical cord
In each edition, the School of Text offers a practical, theoretical and poetic course focused on text, words and writing in artistic practice and their intersections with curating and literature.
After completing two editions of Branch, root, shoot, stem (2022-2023) and an edition of Rope, boomerang, link, umbilical cord (2024-2025), in the 2025-2026 season we offer a new edition of the latter course, in which we will explore the use of the letter format, correspondence and its many different implications in artistic and literary practice.
In each session, we will showcase and discuss various artistic expressions that address the format and concept of the letter in various degrees of explicitness, as well as theoretical references related to the phenomenon of epistolary change and writing. Some of the sessions will also feature artists and creators who have worked with this theme and we will organise outings to visit relevant exhibitions and projects.
The course is free. Spaces are limited.
The course will take place at the Centre d’Art La Capella, in the Espai Finestres, one Friday per month. There will be nine sessions.
The usual schedule will be from 10 am to 12.30 pm, though some time for some specific sessions may vary.
Commitment and availability to attend the course sessions are required.
