This artistic project by Andrés Galeano reflects on the virtual cloud that is the Internet and the environmental impact it has in terms of carbon dioxide emissions, which are directly responsible for global warming. Nephogram wants to make this invisible cloud of the Internet and CO2 visible, measuring it and gauging its dimensions in order to make us aware of the need to adopt a more responsible and sustainable use of our digital devices.

Nephogram is a digital tool that combines art, science and technology to minimize our CO2 footprint when we share photos on the Internet, thus promoting a more ecological future.

Nephogram has been made possible thanks to the support of Barcelona Producció (2022) and the research grants Barcelona Crea in art and science (2022), Neustart Kultur from Stiftung Kulturwerk VG Bild-Kunst (2021), and Stiftung Kunstfonds (2020).

At the presentation we will have one of the project's scientific collaborators:

Jordi Mazon, physicist, PhD in Sciences (UPC) and master's degree in applied climatology (UB). Professor in the Physics Department of the UPC. Author of about fifteen scientific dissemination books in the field of physics and meteorology, and about thirty research articles. President of the Catalan Association of Meteorology, and member of the Catalan Society of Physics.

Estampa is a collective of programmers, filmmakers and researchers working in the fields of audiovisual media and digital environments. Their practice is based on a critical and archaeological approach to audiovisual technologies, on researching the tools and ideologies of artificial intelligence and on the resources of experimental animation.
