From 15 May to 4 July 2010. Roundabout Encounter Program

This exhibition features the work of artists who have participated in artist's residence exchange programs between institutions in Spain and Egypt during 2008 and 2009. The show desconstructs cultural and artistic preconceptions showing the unity of the Mediterranean and, at the same time, the irreductible individual diversity of its artists.
Using principally photography and video – although there are also maps, interactive installations and embroidery – the artists investigate the complex realities of our contemporary societies, reclaiming the role of art as a tool and a space for multiple cartographies.

The participating institutions from Egypt are the Contemporary Image Collective, Townhouse, Artellewa and Medrar.
The institutions from Spain are Hangar, LABoral and CAN Farrera.
